Living the cliche

So things seem to have calmed down for some time, as you can tell from the news but also from the content of this entry. But with September being just around the corner, I’m keeping an ear to the ground, Twitter, Facebook, friends… anything that might be labelled as bela.

It is a curious thing, procrastination… That it can get you to post something so redundant as what I’m posting right now when you’ve just started a new full-time job (this time for real) and you’ve got a book to translate is indeed curious. But it’ll make me happy to post this, so there you go *smiles sweetly*

I made these simple but cute and actually quite tasty cookies from Cassey Ho’s Healthy Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich recipe. If you know me in real life and are reading this, I can imagine your surprise because I don’t cook and I don’t have the slightest interest in anything related to cooking. So this is a first for me, curtesy of…  you guessed it, procrastination! The ice-cream part didn’t work out like in the video, but the cookies actually exceeded my expectations. And there are only two ingredients: bananas and oatmeal.

Some fresh summer fruits and my favorite type of tea, Twinings Earl Grey Tea (unlike Ana’s favorite of the same brand) completes this midday snack. Then I went and filtered it as a final touch. If I can’t escape from cooking eventually, I sure can’t escape from the cliche of instagramming it. I even added a hashtag! *OMG*

Desk bunny

Meet Desk Bunny!

I came across this adorable desk organizer at a random stationary shop. Leaving aside the gorgeous design, the mere fact that it’s in the shape of a bunny compelled me to buy it naturally. As this one was the only one left at the shop (it was on display but still in good shape) I even got a discount, yay!

I thought I’d bring it to work first but then changed my mind for fear that it might get lost or something. So stays on my desk at home (although here, as you can see from the stone tiles, it’s taking a little stroll in the balcony).

Surprise Turkish coffee at work

I’m not a big fan of Turkish coffee but it’s part of the daily routine of almost every workplace here. The other day, I was pleasantly surprised when my colleagues offered me a cup and so was my fresh enthusiasm for using Instagram.

Mom’s new year’s present to me

It matches my layout by some grand game of the universe, because I know that mom has never seen it!

Resurrected cups!

I bought these from a flea market in Venice on the first day of my holiday in Italy last kurban bayram. I carried them with me in a bag whenever we traveled by bus as they were too precious to risk getting broken in my luggage. But apparently the universe had already decided on their fate because on our way back at the domestic flights section of the airport, my boyfriend dropped the bag they were in and they were both broken. I was only hours from home after having taken good care of them for over a week! Thankfully my mum glued the pieces back into place and now they are good as new. Well, almost… My boyfriend was so sad he broke them that I couldn’t stay angry with him. It could very well have been me who dropped them judging from my history with clumsiness. The purpose of this post? To make a point that now I can share Instagram photos on my blog somehow easily.
